In need of female names
« on: August 24, 2012, 10:01:20 am »
Ok, people, time to pick your brains.  I'm starting on a sequel to Something to Tell You and I need two female names : Sic's daughter and one for Rias' daughter.  Anyone has ideas?

P.S. Yup, I'm so not even thinking of doing an entry for the contest... damn plot bunny, it will be for a next time...

I've always had a fondness for the name Amaryllis. I'd love to name my kid that, but I'm afraid she would probably be teased for life. However, I think it works in Lindsay's world of weird names. And, you could always name Sic's daughter Jaeleka!  :)

I love Amaryllis, but it's very similar to Amaranthe in sound... maybe too much.

I've been kicking around a plot bunny involving one of "the five" so I've been stocking up on names... Current 'liked' names that I'll probably not use are Ilsa, Misere, Nalta, Ercys, Freya and Clarion.

Good point. I can only think of flower names. My mother decided that since she can't grow a garden in a city, she would name all of us after plants. Laurel, Ivy, Rose and Violet. Interestingly, the amaranthe flower symbolizes immortality. I think it goes along with the idea that Amaranthe is determined to earn a place in the history books and be remember for generations to come.

Well, since you've been kicking around ideas for your own story, I won't use those names :)
I still really like the name Alexa, but I am more thinking of using it for Rias and Tikaya's daughter.  So, that still leaves Sic and Am's daughter...

I only need one female name and I've decided on Seven (as in seventh born) so they're all yours! Here's a few names I use in the gaming world when I want a fantasy-ish twist - Elandra, Erisi, Lintral, Vera, Avva, Lilith

I have Eilis (or Silis), Elinore or Adelle (can be shortened to Addie for a small kid). I think I might like Adelle... but I don't know :((

I like Adelle. Or maybe Adelaide because Adelle reminds me too much of Adele?

It does! :D I think it's hard to come up with a name that fits in with all the names Lindsay came up with. I'd love to see how she came up with some of them.

Would it be weird to use 2 names starting with A?  Do I lack imagination ?  :-\

I've always been partial to Quinn, but really any 'normal' baby name will sound out of place in the EE world. Makes it kinda hard to name characters ;)

Is it awkward that I was just thinking about cooking curried quinoa salad with mint?
