Also, in a sad-but-human-nature kind of way, I'm thinking that a big reason that Sicarius was able to open up more to Amaranthe is precisely because she went through some of the same things he went through, at the hands of the same person.

I think you're right. I thought his openness was also partly due to guilt after he realized his slaughter of Forge's members contributed to how everything went down.

Not to mention that she went through all that and endured for him.
