I've been waiting for this and I loved it! But DAMN. With the servant girl? I can only remember that Cleopatra movie with Elizabeth Taylor when she caught a girl trying to poison her tea, so she said, "I forgive you...now drink it." :P Anyway, I loved the "I'll protect you" line/paragraph and the "Sir?" at the end. Poor Sicarius.  :(

Yeah, his plan totally backfired, didn't it?

Yeah. And this may be hindsight bias on my part but I don't see how it could have worked. :(

Loved it! Protective!Sic is so awesome.

But now you've spawned a plot bunny! I had to stop playing GW2 to start typing it up. Gack.

Glad I gave you a plot bunny.  I hope it breeds and one of it's offspring show's up at my house...

I love how much blame gets tossed around on this forum. :) Interesting take on the story. I wonder if Sicarius really would have done this in front of Sespian, though?

Oh please. Iocane powder kills INSTANTLY.

...other than that, great piece, although I wouldn't have figured Sicarius would have had a witness. But then - personal relationship judgement is NOT his strong point.

hmm interesting, have to agree though not sure he would have killed in front of Sespian, but can't blame him for doing so

Yeah, I wasn't sure either but I thought it made him getting fired for his profession more realistic.  I also thought having him kill Raumesys in front of Sespian would help add believably to all the jittery jumps and skitters Sespian shows Sicarius throughout the books.  *Knowing* is different from seeing it.  It also made the whole "Did you rape my mom" bit at the end of EE5 more understandable for me.

Five kids or you didn't get them down for their nap until 5. Either way, sounds like trouble.

lol - 5 kids.  They are  up now, but after nap they get an hour of tv time and a snack, so I'm still good.
