Anyone up for a super sexy fic contest for Valentine's Day?

In chat several times, some people* have discussed the possibility of having a smutty fic contest on the forums. I think Valentine's Day is a great opportunity for this!

Now, I realize that not everybody is comfortable writing smut (i.e. sexually explicit stories, porn), so I propose that there are two categories for the contest:

Category 1: Active Romance -- Smut, explicit sexual content. Nothing is hidden, while much is revealed.

Category 2: Fade to Black -- Sexual content is very mild and suggestive.

Basically, the distinction is that Active Romance entries would go in the 18+ forum, while Fade to Black entries could be anywhere. All entries must involve romance and/or smut in some way, using the EE universe characters. A winner will be selected for each category, and I will come up with an awesome title for you to use on the forums, to herald your skill at writing smooshy, sexy stuff.

And we shall call this contest: Cupidcarius. Mwah ha ha. Moondreamer has suggested I may have a death wish.

So, anyone up for it? We'd have to decide soon, because Valentine's Day is only six weeks away! Yikes.

I have never written fan fiction, but I want to give it a try. I think that fade to black would be a better option for me... If I could write in Finnish I would definitely write the full frontal action though

Cupidcarius Contest Rules

Rule One: There are two categories, Active Romance and Fade to Black, as defined in my first post in this thread. All entries must involve sex in some way. Authors get to decide what this means, but literal interpretation is strongly encouraged. This is a smutty fic contest, after all.

Rule Two: No word limit. Use all the words you need!

Rule Three: Limit of one entry per person per category. If you want to try to sweep this thing, go for it.

Rule Four: Entries don't have to be limited to heterosexual couples! If you want to write about Agarik escaping against all odds and meeting the surfer with the talented tongue, please do! Want to write about a scene from Maldynado's past which featured multiple partners? Or Mal seducing a young, handsome airship captain? Do it! Think Retta grooves on the ladies? She might!

Rule Five: Consensual sex only, please! Which means only adult characters, which I will define as ages 18 and up. That should keep us safe in every legal jurisdiction out there.

Rule Six: Deadline is February 14th.

Mana, I'm not sure how you want to handle the explicit fics. Do you want to have a separate thread in Contests for them to be submitted in, or do you want to have the thread in the 18+ fic forum? Or is just labeling them as explicit enough for this contest?

As I have just discovered this wonderful forum and have been busy reading all the amazing works posted, I can't wait to read what everyone submits.  I am truly in awe of everyone's talents.  Artistic and literary.

Before I forget, which I undoubtedly will when I go to sleep, someone asked me if there was any interest in having a comic category -- you know, a  series of pictures which tell a story. The person who asked is only interested if more people than her want to enter under that category, so she's not the only one.

I think if that person wants to write their story in comic/graphic novel form then it should be still treated like a fanfic and not a "Sexy Arty Farty Shit" (aka FanArt).

As for the contest... I'm not sure, what does the board think?

Personally, I think keeping them with the contest is the best and then label the file name with 18 or Fade.
