The thing that concerns me about including visual art in a written fic contest in the same category is that they're very different storytelling mediums, and it's not really fair to judge them against each other. It kind of comes down to whether or not you prefer apples or oranges, and not storytelling ability, which entries in the same medium are more apt to be judged by.

Personally, I think keeping them with the contest is the best and then label the file name with 18 or Fade.

That's what I think, too. Excellent.

Spoiler
Before I forget, which I undoubtedly will when I go to sleep, someone asked me if there was any interest in having a comic category -- you know, a  series of pictures which tell a story. The person who asked is only interested if more people than her want to enter under that category, so she's not the only one.

Any interest? Sing out!
I think if that person wants to write their story in comic/graphic novel form then it should be still treated like a fanfic and not a "Sexy Arty Farty Shit" (aka FanArt).

As for the contest... I'm not sure, what does the board think?

Personally, I think keeping them with the contest is the best and then label the file name with 18 or Fade.

Opinions?

Holy crap that makes my toes tingle just thinking about it...  :o

Kim, have you seen sweartoad's picture of Booksie apres snake-greasing? Or the Yara butt slapping picture? These are the gifts that sweartoad has brought us!

ETA: Wow, apparently you can't use characters with accents on the forum either! :( The e in apres should have an acute accent over the e.

Sarah, yeah... You also can't copy text from another source.  Any kind of punctuation at all will cut the rest of it off.  There were many posts lost to an errant copied hyphen or quotes, or even a comma.  :(

My anal-retentive side is so fussed by this. Improper punctuation -- argh! :( :( :(

Can I still volunteer to participate?  I'd love to join in!

Amaranthe found hope in his light tone.  "But something you appreciate once it's there?"
