You have no idea how many times I wish Hugh Jackman could play Sicarius. I'm just not sure he has the right face.  :-[

You and me both, sister.  Or Gerard Butler.  I would watch him in just about anything.   /drool

It's just too bad.  :-\ *sigh*

what do you think about Alexander Ludwig for Akstyr? with dyed hair, of course. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1573253/

I think Alex Ludwid would be a good choice, but Persoanlly, his build may be a little big for Akstyr.  I agree with Nicholas Hoult too.  Both are very good ideas.  So far, I'm having the hardest time casting Akstyr in my mind.
I wish I had a time machine because for books, a classical actor comes to mind, Thomas Mitchell.  Nicholas Hoult

Who would play Basilard? I'm still coming up with blanks for him. :(

Basilard:  Woody Harrelson?  I don't know.  http://www.myhungergames.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/woody-harrelson-in-2012.jpg

That actually works really well for me.  :D

Haha, after seeing The Hunger Games I can only see Woody Harrelson as a drunken Haymitch Abernathy with a flask in his hand.

Basilard: Tom Hardy. Fo shiz. Put some scars on him and keep his head shaved and he'd do a good job :D

Actually, that link popped up a thumbnail for Layer Cake.  With those big blue eyes I'd take a bald Daniel Craig.  He's a bit old for Sicarius, but do we know how old Basilard is?

In my head, Books is Gary Wilmes: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1675596/

And Sicarius is Vladimir Tevlovski (osnap): http://www.imdb.com/media/rm337557504/nm1769070

Wow. that's really... ummm wow. Yes. I agree. Maybe just add some stubble to Gary Wilmes. Any a blond Vladimir Telovski would rock. :D

Gary Wilmes seems awfully young for Books.  He's got to be at least in his 40s, right?  And extra age from the grief and alcohol.

Bah, the makeup department can handle that. :)
Amaranthe/Sicarius fangirl, who wonders why she has a fondness for fictional characters that she'd suspects she'd flee if she met 'em in real life.

Well, yes. He has a lot more wrinkles and general downtrodden-ness in my head. But he's the framework!

I was trying to find a good person to play Hollowcrest and I'm leaning toward Timothy Murphy. But I don't know... http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3088288000/nm1182011

Ok so I think it was Cam who mentioned in the fanart section that she thought books was a bit like Hugh Laurie (all scruffy from his Dr. House days). I agree BUT that got me to following links etc so I now have:

Books: Craig Ferguson (honestly. I love this man so much - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0272401/) OR Ciaran Hinds (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001354/).

Basilard: Mark Strong. I said I loved Craig Ferguson so much. I was lying. I love THIS MAN sooooooo muuuuuuch!! (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0835016/). He doesn't have blue eyes but ... meh. Contacts :)

Hollowcrest: either Anthony Hopkins (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000164/) who can be such a sinister character or Sean Connery (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000125/).

Oooh, ooh, Anthony Hopkins FTW on Hollowcrest.  Connery is to *sexy* for the roll and has too much of an accent.

I know right. If he could come across as creepy as he did in any of the Hannibal Lector movies or with as many ulterior motives as in Fracture he would be awesome. Also, we know he looks pretty good in armor after seeing Thor (well, I know anyway :) )
